Teri Meri Kahaani is directed by Kunal Kohli. The director of Fanaa. A critical as well as public acclaimed film. Hum Tum was another melodious hit for him. It was his come back and now he is making re-entry as writer cum director after 4 years.

TMK starts off with 1960 back drop, as it was said, fall in love upon thrice. Shahid coming to Bombay from Pune junction to be a music director. He accidently steps into cabin of Priyanka Chopra, who is a renowned actress. Rukhsar, character portrayed by her..
Meanwhile, Govind and Rukhsar feel they are in close after some situations in train. Upon reaching bombay, Govind meets Radhika (Prachi Desai), a neighbor of Govind in Bombay. Misinterprets happen and Rukhsar and Radhika are none but sisters. Soon, story shifts to the modern version. 2012
2012 love story is set up in England. Where Krish is in relationship with Meera(Neha Sharma), relationship which is surviving on ventilator. Krish meanwhile breaks up and accidentally meets Radha (Priyanka). After hiccups, both enjoy the night by roaming England on Krish birthday occasion. Soon after reciprocating in love, both depart for some former relationship of Krish.
Then the story moves to the oldest version of 1910. Javed is a street smart guy, who charms away with his sheiris and is in search of nothing less than fun. He meets up Aaradhana and falls for her... In trying to win her heart, he lands up in Jail. After some normal run, love buds, but Aaradhana gets married before Javed comes out.
What happens to all three love stories, will they ever meet. Will Rukhsar convince Radhika? Meera leaves Krish? Javed forgets Aaradhana?

Weak Links:
Frankly, one would expect there should be no weakies as Shahid would have taken care after debacle of Mausam.
Priyanka in 1910 was alright, but still in some scenes, she was overdoomed. Confusion of character names. Unconvincing scenes.
When a star comes to meet some persons in a hotel, she doesn't dance. No police stands as scum when there is a huge romance song going in barracks.
If you think, those should be left as it was movie. The next scenes concentrate on the things which I have spoken above.
Performances:
Shahid Kapoor who has been transformed from a lone smiler to Serious actor is commendable. He shows his strength here.
This script demanded three variations, and he done it with ease. The chaplin go way in 1960 suited him and ofcourse the 2012 would set definitely as he is given some hanky panky uber cool dress.
1910 street charmer is also a wonder. He executed his role to perfection. He has done, what he has too. The rest cast should have helped him much to make this movie go huge.
Priyanka Chopra, no doubts she is good actor. Acting goes waste when the plot of the character is not strong. That's exactly what happened. 1960 role of Rukhsar failed to impress. She portrays fear, irritated, happy, love, afraid all in single go, which is confusing.
Costumes in 1910 should have been more realisitic. Wavery kind of more she is.
Neha Sharma and Prachi Desai done roles very neatly. Though screen appearance of both are very less.
Other departments:
The movie is kind of direct lift from a Taiwanese film, Three times. Where the stages are 1911, 1960 and 2006. Though, many don't know and don't consider this, but it hovers.
Music is very interesting.. Back ground music also enlightens and makes very interesting. However, Screenplay flatters. The problem is, shallow explanation of love stories. Roughly set of 120 minutes. Director should have taken another 20 minutes and carefully trace 1960 and 1910 love stories. 2012 although was very common and not necessary required much explanation.
Editing was crisp and DOP was good.
Bottom Line:
Teri Meri Kahaani is a thrice upon love story where you really don't fall in love thrice.
A weak soul and shallow story film.
