This made Congress High Command cause interest in making Sasidhar Reddy as Chief Minister. Apart from his low profile in agitation, his father Late Shri Dr. Marri Channa Reddy served as Chief Minister to Andhra Pradesh twice and as Governor for four states and also led India National Congress INC.
