Campaigning ends

Campaign for 18 by-polls ends today. Perhaps by the time I complete posting this, it will have completed. Its hardly another 3 min left. 


So, the campaigning by all parties should be stopped by 5 P.M. today evening and also there should be no means of paper and liquid to flow to voters. And no e-campaign also.


All parties can now relax and stretch their calf muscles and by the time you really relax with a sip, you have your eyes on voting date. Yes, June 12 is the date and there is plenty of drama happening.


With YSRCP taking this by-polls as prestigeous, yes they have to take as they can refer this as an ultimatum to 2014 elections. Because Jagan is in Jail and nothing beyond that can happen to YSRCP. They found a new leader in the party. Sharmila Reddy has been the show stopper, campaign stealler with direct hit words.


Congress on the other hand tried to thrust the throttle, which worked very partially. They can feel happy as they have got some good responses in parts during campaigning. But the vote share will be the doubt because, majority how come and gone as there was no thunder words by congress. Congress which banked on development schemes, failed miserably in taking them into crowd.


On the flip, they concentrated on firing at YS Jagan and Sharmila. This definitely detroited them, scolding women is not a good sign or positive way in Andhra Politics. Women vote bank is very precious. In the past there are only two persons who have got this bank. One being NTR and other being YSR.


Both of them died in office and the vote bank now shifted to YSRCP, to be precise Jagan. As Jagan is in Jail there has been massive increase in following as Vijayamma and Sharmila have stepped out and took the responsibility. 


TDP, who are waiting for an opportunity are still waiting. Initial stages looked atleast TDP could get 2nd position, but now, its as difficult as getting back into throne in 2014. There was luke worm response from cadre when their supreme has come for campaigning. The reason being the local MLA's unsatisfied. What ever the reasons be, this made party to shatter their own image and as a result they have fallen into steep with this.

DHAMMU - Routine NTR's Mass Masala Flick

Jr. NTR's mass role after long time.. Yes. Dhammu is that kind of film, where NTR has proved himself that how good he is in Mass roles. He has proved in Aadi, Simhadri, and other films long back. But for quite some time now, he has concentrated only on getting close to family audience. He has done Adhurs, where he proved himself in comedy. Brundavanam, a family oriented film, Shakti was another poor film, which burnt producer pockets. Oosaravelli targeted on Urban Youth and it goes on same sketches of Urban Youth ecentry.

WHAT ITS ABOUT: 

Dhammu. It all starts with two families rivalry. The film opens in black and white mode portraying Suman as good man and Bhanu priya as his wife and Kota Srinivas Rao as Father in law and Nasser as bad man. Due to the greed of ruling the lands, Nasser proves his stamina and ends up succeeding. As a result, they lay their flag in rivals houses and enjoy victory. Remarking as weak hearted persons.

After a quarter century, story moves to capital, Hyderabad. Where Rama Chandra (NTR) an orphan who irks his life in saving others who are on the verge of getting killed, he rescues them for money and he is prominent. By the way he lives on Let Live policy. He earns 63 lakhs in that case. Very soon, he comes across Ashwini(Trisha) and falls for her. After a song, they fall in love. Ashwini wants to see Ram's family and also says that, her father accepts marriage proposal if and only his family is well conceived by her father. Ram along with his childhood friend(Ali) searches for a big family. In that case, they find an elder man(Kota) who wants to adopt a boy as heir to put a check to the odds of Nasser and his band doing misfits. 

After adoption, the story shifts to village and he is forced to take part in revenge drama which is well set before 25 years. Neelavani(Karthika) is introduced as relative to Ram who is now Raja Vasi Reddy. Raja doesn't know the problems he has to face. He never gets clear image of what is to happen. However, his brother in law (VENU) gives him a clear picture of what has happened and what he has to do to stop the massacre. 

After few hiccups and bravery Raja accepts and starts revenge drama. But as he is not fond of killing as he lives on concept of Let Live. Soon, he is poised to drop the let live concept due to twists in tale. Will the family know Raja is an orphan and is adopted. If yes, will he be accepted by the family. What is the twist and why he has dropped the let live policy. Did he really leave that policy. Will he end Nasser's cruel empire, forms the rest story.

How did they play:

NTR who is known for power packed performance, has done an extra ordinary job. He has excelled in all departments ranging from sentiment to sentences, action to dances. Its tailor made role for him, where he has to excel as there is no option left for him. The dances in this film where not heavy but were huge appealing. NTR didn't do risky moves, but what he did were exceptional. 

TRISHA as ashwini, She is not the right choice. That's what every audience feel, she neither looks impressive nor her role was interesting. She just acts as glamour doll, where her glamour has been well utilized by previous directors. She has very weak screen presence. You can count her appearances. 

Karthika as Neelaveni, She has the spirit of doing well. Karthika has scored high points in her last movie Rangam with her performance. Here is also the same case, she keeps on saying utilize me in movie and guess what she has been utilized well by director in movie. Interestingly, her performance is rated better than Trisha as she has greater screen presence and appearance than Trisha.

Kota Srinivas Rao, Bhanu Priya, Suman and Nasser. Well, what can really a person of  my level can say about them. They are the seniors and pro's of Film Industry. They are experts and experts never fail. Same is the case here. 

Nasser has to be appreciated here for his one-eyed cruel role. He has done superb job. Very often, we see Nasser as positive man who supports the lead actor. But for a change he has done a negative role(though not for first time). 

Brahmanandam was wasted in a poor role. He never provided any laughs or gigs. On the flip side, Ali provides you with humour with his double meaning dialogues and actions.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION AND CUT:

STORY: Story has been written by M. Ratnam, who is regular technical aspect in case of S.S. Rajamouli's films. He writes dialogues for all his films. This time he has given  story and dialogues for B. Sreenu. 

Though the story is not a new one, it has that mass elements which make you to sit in the seat. Dialogues are also fun in case of Ali and good in case of regular sentiment case and  very good in case of emotional cases depicting NTR.

MUSIC: Music scored by M.M. Keeravani is already a huge hit. As we have written our review rating at high  of all recent released albums(later crossed out by EEGA). He has done a brilliant job in scroing Back Ground music.  It is intense and grippy. That's what I can say.

Production Values: Producers have spent lavishly for interiors. As we have seen in Simha also, how Sreenu takes care particularly of  interiors. We can see scenes involving with family inside his house where a particular and very care has been taken in etching out interiors. Great job by producer for making this film look very rich.

DOP and Fights: DOP by Arthur Wilson, he has captured what Sreenu is specialist for. The massy fights, the wind which fumes out when hero sits in despair. The dust raising when goons fall. Its superb. A very special mention is must for him. 

Fights by Ram - laxman are pretty good in cases and goes on for overdose in some cases. 

DIRECTION and Screenpaly: B.Sreenu the most bankable name for action oriented projects. His screenplay is poor when compared to his previous films. First half was just dragging, it was going on for ages. He should have taken better care. Second half, it is filled with heroism, where it falls flat sometimes. He concentrated much on the way of killing, but never considered why he was killing all.

Direction is better. He has scored very good points in this department. The way he has shown god and goddess idols. The way he blasted cars. The way he captured emotions were brilliant. I felt this film has got very good points when compared to any other films released in this year in direction department. It is on par with Ee Rojullo, Ishq and sometimes with Business Man too.

I Feel: 
This film story is neither new nor very old. Its a story where it has beaten to death by many directors in past. But, the brand Sreenu and NTR makes you to look out for this film. I feel this film has got power but lacked the punch to make it a bigger hit. I rate movie with 3 out 5.

Flip Side: 
I personally feel that, the story has gone for a toss and so is with screenplay. On the other side, with Avengers ramping up Hyderabad. Dhammu is sure to lose some screens, very less in number though. The commercial success of this film depends on how family audience look at it. The mouth talk isn't great for this film. Though reviews to didn't spice up the things. Racha had good reviews, but very poor mouth talk. 

Producers are already on safe side prior to release. It has to be seen, whether Distributors and Exhibitors can gain some pennies or not.

3 Decades of TDP

March 29, 1982 was the day when Matinee Idol of South India and A.P's whole hearted actor Late Sri Nandamuri TARAKA RAMA RAO famously called as NTR launched his political party just to show the stamina of Andhra-ites. He launched Telugu Desam Party when people of A.P were reluctant to vote Congress to power again. TDP's record is unmatchable, within 9 months after starting the party. It came into power.


The alternative for people of A.P was well set up with NTR's TDP. They have created a history by winning 204 seats in 1982-1983. They maintained well with the majority but due to some reasons, government fell flat. 


In the next elections in 1984, TDP won back again into power with surpassing by a seat this time. They won 205. Later they were confined to Opposition party in Assembly and later won back to power in 1994. At this point NTR passed away. And party's proceedings were taken over by N. Chandra Babu Naidu.


There are many speculations over NTR death and they still continue. Chandra Babu holds the records for the longest time of C.M for A.P state. He was in chair for more than 9 years. However in 2004, they suffered a huge setback as they were limited to 47 seats. The worst ever in their history. This was for stand taken by Chandra Babu Naidu on farmers.


In 2009, they teamed up with TRS, CPI, CPM. But still couldn't win those elections. The big problem now they are facing immediately is threat to lose the 90 odd seats which they won in 2009. With YSRCP, a new party on block, is showing a lot of increment in vote share in Coastal Andhra and Rayalseema region. 


With TDP almost shuning out in Telengana as their supremo couldn't take a stand on Telengana issue. No doubt, it can be said that, TDP and Chandra Babu are certainly facing the heat which they never thought of in 30 long years of party's sail. There is every chance of TDP to hold their position to very low number of seats this time. One can only say that, its time for Chandra Babu to stop acting and think. 

OOSARAVELLI MOVIE REPORT

Oosaravelli.. The most hyped film making circles before its release, the reason very simple.. NTR Jr.'s movie...
Well, we will have a quick look at what the film is on and what is the film's fate at box office.


Oosaravelli is directed by Surender Reddy, who had a mediocre run so far in Direction department as  couple of films were biggest hits and couple were disaster. 


The movie is prodcued by B.V.S.N PRASAD. The producer, who produced Prabhas last hit before he ran into tough phase Chatrapathi and Darling. He has come back to produce the prime league star's movie. 


With tollywood Prince MAHESH scoring his first hit in last five years frankly after the Mind Blower POKIRI with DOOKUDU. What has NTR delivered this time. He was in full form in year 2010, with back to back hits of Adhurs and Brundavanam. Both impressed the fans, family audience and youth to full extent. NTR tasted success last year for two main and important festivals Sankranthi and Dasara with Adurs and Brundavanam. But how ever, he landed in trouble with Shakthi as the film was a major let down for Film Industry and careers of director Meher Ramesh and producer C ASHWINI DUTT.


Oosarvelli is being released in maximum theatres worldwide and broke the record of DOOKUDU in Nizam area as it was released in 620 theatres. 5 extra too Dookudu. And also broke the record of USA theatres as 91. Dookudu was screened in 85. No matter how many theatres you release, the movie should have its magic.

REVIEW: So, coming to story. Tony (NTR Jr.) is a care free attitude guy and changes colours or his style according to situation. He meets up with Niharika (Tammanna) and falls in love with her kiss in Kashmir. The story and plot shifts to Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Niharika is engaged to Rakesh (Advik Mahajan) son of Minister (Tanikella Baharani), Tony tries his special attributes of changing colours to get Niharika and former uses the help of Ajju Bhai (Prakash Raj)'s brother Irfan. In turn Tony being the hero kills Irfan, Rakesh and Minister.The reason disclosed at that point.


Later on when Tony is trying to kill an officer(Ragu) from Munabi, Chitra (Payal Ghosh) roommate friend of  Niharika sees incident and flashback starts. 

The flashback starts on interesting note has Kick Shyam as Niharika's brother, working as undercover cop to catch Don Ajju bhai and stop his activities is killed and Niharika is struck with bullet where she losses her memory.

What is the relation between Tony and Niharika, why is he protecting, why he killed Minister. Will Niharika get back her memory and take revenge of her brother's brutal murder forms climax.

PERFORMANCES:

NTR as always has eased in role but the main point is he does not carry the whole film on his shoulders as he did in his previous outing Shakthi. His new style is worthy and dialogue delivery is also nice as it is different from his actual.

Tamanna has got the role which she wanted. I believe its better than her past films as she had a major share of expressing her acting skills. Unlike her previous outing Badrinath, where her character description was annoying as she shifted from a Strong headed to lovely heart in matter of 15 minutes. This time, the story revolved her and NTR has to move around her character and elevate heroism skills.

Comedy with Jaya Prakash reddy as JP and Raghu babu with NTR evoked laughs and provided the entertainment and Bharani, Mahajan were fit enough. Prakash Raj is back as villain after his applauded Father role in Dookudu. He portaried with well ease. Is any tough role for this guy. I strongly feel No. Murali was seen for few instances. Kick Shyam is brother of Tamanna in movie and was for brief period who made impact. While Ahuthi Prasad, Duvvasi mohan were for titles sake. 

Music by DSP was an average fair as most fans expressed surprises for such an album for a Rocking star. But well, he manages with Back Ground Score every time and this time too he did that. 

The credit must be given to Cinematographer Rasool Ellore, for good photography and full marks for Surender Reddy's Direction as usual and Vakatham Vamsi came up with a good subject but not new though. Could have been better if he had done well with second half too. I strongly feel Surender and vamsi have to work out together for much time to get a very good movie. You cannot just maintain every thing with a good Direction. Story and Screenplay forms the basic tissue and issue.

BOX OFFICE: Well with Dasara holidays coming to an end after this weekend. Producer and Distributor have done well to sell the goods by releasing in 620 theaters in Nizam area, and also major in Rest of AP. But with DOOKUDU performing super collecting almost double the budget of 33Cr, it might fall a bit flat here as DOOKUDU has all elements expected from that hero. But massive action sequences miss here as they are expected for this hero. 

Many reviews rating the movie to limit of 3 and 3.2 max, the chances of prefering this movie by audience will be less if they haven't watched DOOKUDU. So, the festival season might be a half hearted Success for Tarak as he is out of Debacle of Shakthi. 

The major success also remains on audience how they take second half as Fans were bit lousy for second....
